DTF1 RuleBook
Section 1: Lobby Rules
A race restart can be called for the following reasons:
If 3 or more drivers have connection issues on the starting grid, including the race start.
If there is a driver who should not be racing in an active car, such as those who are not part of the league or an unassigned reserve.
A race restart is not automatically guaranteed. An admin or tier coordinator has the discretion to consider and call a restart for the reasons outlined.
If a race restart is called:
All drivers and commentators should leave the original lobby to join the new lobby as soon as possible.
The grid will be set to the original qualifying order.
The weather will be matched to the same conditions before the restart.
Only commentators, tier coordinators and admins are allowed to spectate a race from the lobby, with the expectation that everyone else is to watch the stream.
Commentators are expected to stream the race and actively view and comment on the session and not just spectate.
If a lobby has less than 10 drivers to begin the race with, drivers must complete at least 90% of the race to receive full points. Drivers that retire before 90% will not receive points.
Drivers are responsible for their own AI car during a race. They are able to use the AI at their own risk, as any incidents involving the AI will be treated as though the driver was in control.
Drivers in AI mode for over 50% of the race will be disqualified from a race.
Extended use of AI mode is permitted under the Formation Lap, VSC and Safety Car.
Once drivers have entered the race and are waiting on the grid, they must NOT ready up until given clear instruction from an admin or tier coordinator. This is to allow drivers to adjust their setups, strategies and fuel loads as well as giving a small break between qualifying and the race. Readying up early on the grid will result in a penalty and will get stricter if repeat breaking of this rule occurs.

Section 2: Race Cancellations
A race may be cancelled for unforeseen circumstances, such as full lobby crash, and is under the admin and tier coordinator’s discretion.
If a race is cancelled and the race has NOT reached 75% race distance by the leading car, half points will be awarded.
If a race is cancelled and the race has reached 75% race distance by the leading car, full points will be awarded.
A cancelled race will NOT be rescheduled.
Section 3: Activity and Attendance
Drivers that fail to attend a race that they have personally confirmed to attend in the appropriate ‘Check-In’ Discord channel will receive an Attendance Strike.
Drivers that fail to confirm their availability to attend a race in the appropriate ‘Check-In’ Discord channel will receive an Attendance Strike.
Attendance Strikes are under the full discretion of the admin team when being awarded.
Drivers that receive 3 Attendance Stikes will have their full time seat removed.
The admin team has full discretion on activity checks and can perform them wherever they see necessary.
If a driver or member of the server is inactive, they are expected to communicate with an admin to confirm that they are unable to continue racing or perform the tasks of their role.
Full time and reserve drivers are expected to check in AT LEAST 30 minutes before the official race start time and is a requirement to be able to attend the race.
The admin team has full discretion on which drivers are allowed to race, including those from lower tiers and reserves. They are allowed to fill the grid as they see fit up until the official race start time and can approve late reserves, under the agreement of the whole admin team.
Section 4: Recruitment
New members to the league who wish to drive are to be put into a recruits role. Recruits must pass a practice race, hosted by a recruitment coordinator or admin, before they are able to receive a full time or reserve role.
The admins have authority on which recruits are passed or not. If the admin team agrees overall that a driver does not require a practice race to prove their racecraft, they can be set to a full time or reserve role without the need for a practice race.
Section 5: Tier Placements & Reserves
Reserves are allowed to race in any tier, with exceptions to this rule:
The reserve would be a misfit in terms of pace compared to the full time drivers of the tier.
The admin team have agreed for any suitable reason to exempt the reserve from racing in a tier.
Full time drivers of a lower tier are allowed to reserve for a higher tier, given approval of an admin or tier coordinator and meeting the criteria of Rule 5.1.
Section 6: Incident & Apeal Submission
Drivers must submit any incidents using the correct incident submission form. The fields of the incident submission forms must be correctly filled in, with any invalid or erroneous inputs causing an automatic dismissal of the submission by the stewards.
A submitted incident clip must:
Be submitted in full and freely available online.
Include a reasonable amount of time before and after an incident occurs (‘reasonable’ defined as sensible and useful).
Include the whole screen of the driver’s perspective, without cutting off important information such as timings, telemetry or track maps.
Not be tampered in any way, such as editing or splicing clips together.
Be a MAXIMUM of 1 minute long, with clips that are any longer being provided with a timestamp.
An incident clip must be submitted in the correct submission form within 24 hours of the planned session start time. Any incidents submitted after this 24 hour window WILL NOT be reviewed by the stewarding team.
Any stewarding decision may be appealed after a stewards report is posted. Appeal must be submitted using the correct appeal submission form (different form to the incident submission form) .
Any appeal must contain a new explanation and evidence. Any copying from the original incident form will be dismissed by the stewards.
An appeal submission must be made within 24 hours of the stewards report being posted. Any appeals submitted after this 24 hours window WILL NOT be reviewed by the stewarding team.
Once an appeal decision is made and posted in an appeal report by the stewards, it CANNOT be appealed again as the decision is final.
Section 7: Driver Management
Admins have discretion to drop any driver from the full time roster that they feel is not correctly representing the performance and standards of the league, or are failing to communicate their attendance.
Any full time driver that has been dropped from their full time seat or step down from their full time role cannot be assigned as a full time driver for 3 weekends.
Any full time driver that has stepped down from their seat are given the reserve driver role and are permitted to have another full time seat, given that space is available and Rule 7.2 is met.
Section 8: Discord Rules
All members of the league are required to treat everyone with respect. Failing to follow this will result in a timeout in the Discord server as well as further punishments if seen fit.
Any excessive swearing, attacks or racially motivated/sexual oriented comments will not be tolerated.
Any attacks, undermining or disrespecting the admin team, Discord Moderators, DTFIA, scorekeepers or commentators will not be tolerated and will result in severe punishments.
Any member that is causing unnecessary disruption, arguments or being generally unruly will receive a timeout in the Discord server.
Under absolutely no circumstance should NSFW content be posted anywhere in the Discord channel or through the DMs of our members.
Links to other Discord servers are allowed, although you should not spam them in any channel.
Unnecessarily tagging members is not allowed and will result in a timeout.
Section 9: Driving Standards
Corner cutting in qualifying to gain an advantage is NOT allowed. In the need to let drivers behind on hot-laps past, you may use the run off areas that would usually result in corner cutting, given that no advantage is gained by using it.
Blocking other drivers during qualifying is NOT allowed and may result in a penalty. This includes accidental and intentional blocking.
Drivers must treat the formation lap, if it is enabled, like any other racing lap under safety car conditions. Any breaking of the rules for formation laps may result in a penalty. Drivers must:
Keep in a single file, not going alongside other drivers.
Not overtaking drivers ahead unless there is no other safe option to do so.
Not crash into other drivers, accidental or deliberate, to cause them to be disqualified from the formation lap.
Drivers are NOT allowed to track reset in any session or scenario, EXCEPT if the car is beached on kerbing or off-track surfaces. Track resetting will result in a penalty.
If a driver wants to end their qualifying or race, they must manually retire in the pitlane. Retiring on the track is NOT allowed and will result in a seat removal if repeated more than 3 times. This also includes leaving the game or session to the Main Menu.
Rejoining the track (defined as anything inside the white lines) in an unsafe manner is prohibited. Drivers are expected to be aware of other drivers around them and are responsible for any incidents they cause due to rejoining the circuit in an unsafe manner.
Causing a collision with other drivers is NOT allowed. The driver at fault will receive a penalty ranging from 5 to 20 seconds as well as 2 penalty points, depending on the severity and damage obtained in the incident.
Drivers who are receiving a blue flag must yield to the lapping car. Failure to do so in an appropriate manner will result in a penalty as well as any in-game penalties given due to blue flag infringements. Lapped drivers must be predictable in their driving to give a good indicator to the lapping car behind of your position.
Drivers entering the pitlane must stay within the solid white lines, both on entry and exit. If caught going over these lines to gain an advantage or any other deliberate act will result in a penalty for an unsafe pit entry/exit.
Unethical team orders are NOT allowed and will result in heavy penalties. Unethical team orders include, but are not limited to:
Swapping cars under safety car procedure.
sing a car to maliciously and directly impact an opponent.
Crashing or stopping on track to cause a VSC/Safety car.
Intentional crashing will result in an immediate league ban, as this behaviour is not tolerated by anyone at DTF1.
Section 10: Attacking & Defending Etiquette
A defending driver is allowed 1 defensive move and may also return to the original racing line. When returning to the racing line, they must leave at least HALF a car width to their outside if the attacker is alongside, where appropriate.
ANY moving under braking is NOT allowed as it is extremely unpredictable. It will result in a penalty for the offending driver.
Brake checking of any driver is NOT allowed and will be penalised, with potential for it to fall under Rule 9.11, ‘Intentional Crashing’.
When on the inside, an attacking driver must have their front wheels level with the defending driver’s rear wheels to be entitled to space, with any incidents breaking this rule falling onto the attacking driver’s fault.
When on the outside, an attacking driver must have their front wheels ahead of the defending driver’s rear wheels to be entitled to space, with any incidents breaking this rule falling onto the attacking driver’s fault.
Excessive dive bombs may be viewed as Dangerous Driving and will result in a penalty for the offending driver.
Section 11: Safety Car Procedures
Drivers are expected to remain in single file under VSC/Safety car conditions. In the case of a Safety car restart, you may NOT bring any part of the car alongside the car ahead until you cross the start/finish line. Offsetting the car in terms of position is allowed, as long as you are not going alongside the car ahead.
The leading driver under a Safety car restart must NOT accelerate/decelerate in a dangerous and unpredictable manner. If the leading driver accelerates back up to racing speeds, they are not allowed to slow the field back down as they are now committed to the restart.
Overtaking under VSC/Safety car conditions is NOT allowed, including the pitlane. The only exceptions are
If the car ahead is off track.
If the car ahead has serious mechanical problems and overtaking is the ONLY safe option.
If the car ahead has DNF’d out of the race.
If the game itself allows you to pass a driver ahead that is not in accordance with rule, ignore this message and do NOT overtake. It is a well-known glitch and will result in a penalty for an offending driver if they exploit it.
Section 12: Penalty Points & Warnings
An Official Warning may be given to a driver found at fault for an incident that was deemed to be egregious, under the steward and admin’s discretion. This includes, but is not limited to, exploiting the game or causing an excessive incident.
Penalty Points (abbreviated to PP) are given alongside penalties and will be kept track of over a season. Once a driver has reached a certain level of Penalty Points, they can be awarded a range of penalties based on what number of Penalty Points they have reached.
Any bans, qualifying or race, given due to Penalty Points must be served in the driver’s highest ranked tier, and those given due to race incidents must be served in the tier that they were awarded in.
Admins reserve the right to remove or ban any member who has failed to meet DTF1’s standards for racing before they reach any threshold of warnings or Penalty Points.
Overtaking in the pit lane is allowed under green flag conditions and is at the attacking driver’s risk to do so. Pit lane overtakes are NOT allowed under VSC/Safety car conditions.
Ghosting is disabled for all circuits, including street tracks due to glitches encountered.
